Lady Heroines

Matilda

Matilda has one intermission with an estimated run time of 2 hrs and 30 mins and shows at the Shubert Theater on W 44th St. The musical revolves around Matilda, a book loving girl with a big dream. Make sure to get your discount tickets to Matilda soon as it will be closing its Broadway run on Jan 1, 2017.

Wicked

Arguably one of the most successful Broadway musicals, Wicked originally debuted on Broadway back in 2003. Wicked is recommended for children of five years and older. Wicked has one intermission with an estimated run time of 2 hrs and 45 mins and shows at the Gershwin Theater on W 51st St. As the posters will tell you, Wicked is the “untold story of the witches of Oz.”

Disney Inspired

The Lion King

First opening on Broadway in 1997, The Lion King is the third longest-running show in Broadway’s history and its highest grossing. Based on the 1994 Award Winning Disney animated film, Lion King the musical is that good. The show features unforgettable costumes, staging, choreography and of course music. The show is recommended for kids [and parents] of all ages. The Lion King musical run time is 2 hrs and 30 mins with 1 intermission. The show plays at the Minskoff Theater on W 45th St.

Aladdin

Aladdin the musical debuted on Broadway in March of 2014. Similar to The Lion King, Aladdin is based on Disney’s successful 1992 animated film. Since opening, Aladdin has gone on to receive five nominations for Tony Awards and plans to launch a national tour beginning in 2017. While not a runaway success and “run don’t walk” reviews from critics, Aladdin does still feature the timeless music and characters.

** Age appropriate is highly subjective. We gathered these opinions by reviewing responses in popular Broadway forums and checking with the Producer’s website. Before purchasing tickets, we recommend you contact the theater to inquire further.
